KiK: Tell us about yourself.
Mimi Irvin: My name is Mimi Irvin “aka” Corporate Chic. I am a wife, mother of two handsome boys, daughter, friend, and have been told a fashionista. My day job consists of a career as a Project Engineer working in Corporate America with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
However, I have always loved fashion as well. I started on whim and started sharing my unique and inexpensive corporate attire daily with followers on my ‘Corporate Chic’ Facebook page and Instagram. From there I created my official blog called MeYe Label pronounced “MY Label” and now it’s my official Vintage online resale shop. MeYe Label was created to inspire women to realize that personal style is about YOU while adding unique pieces on a budget. My Motto is “Dress the Part, Shop Smart”
KiK: Describe your fashion style and does your fabulous hair play a part in your personal style?
Mimi Irvin: I would describe my style as Unique, Edgy, and Sophisticated. My hair adds that last final touch to bring it all together.
KiK: What are your 3 favorite items of clothing?
Mimi Irvin: 1. Sequin of any sort, Jackets, pants, skirts, shirts. 2. Jumpsuits 3. Printed dresses
KiK: Name your favourite places to shop?
Mimi Irvin: I am a huge fan of vintage. I mainly shop resale, thrift and/or consignment shops. I love to mix certain vintage pieces with a bit of modern as well. Locally, in Houston I love Buffalo Exchange located on 2439 Bissonnet St. And Leopard Lounge Vintage. On IG, I love @angelsvintage, @vintagewhimsy, @angels4closet, @solidvintage. They have so many cute items!!!
KiK: What is your favourite hairstyle and how do you maintain your hair?
Mimi Irvin: If my hair is not twisted, I typically will pin it up at night and sleep in satin bonnet. In the mornings I will spritz with water, add some Shea Moisture Reconstructive Conditioner (maybe Coconut oil) and style in an up-do. I love my “pin to the side” wash and go
KiK: How do you wear your natural hair and what are your 3 favourite hair products?
Mimi Irvin: I love Cantu, TGIN and Shea Moisture Products. All work very well with my hair. I tend to alternate from time to time for my wash n go’s or twist outs etc. For those that know me, I tend to change my hair, if not every day, every other day. I love versatility. It can be in a big fro one day and twisted updo the next.
KiK: How do you select what you are going to wear each day? What is your process?
Mimi Irvin: After that I apply my make-up, followed by styling my hair I can determine my outfit of the day!
KiK: Where can we keep up with you online?
Mimi Irvin: Instagram – @officialcorporatechic
