It seems as though many more people in Jamaica are going natural. It’s exciting that people are starting to change their ideas of beauty and maturity. One this I especially love is seeing women with short natural hair rocking their styles boldly and proudly. That is probably why I have been snapping more pics while out and about. Here are just a few of my recent short natural hair sightings.
The Professional Woman
Derri was spotted outside of her office. She wears her twists for a week or two then unravels them for a fluffy twist-out for another week. This hairstyle is perfect for those who with extremely thick hair. Your twists will look plum and full – especially if done on detangled but damp, un-stretched hair.
The Sophisticated Edgy Mohawker
The Casual Cornrower
This style can be done with flat twists or cornrows and the front curls (they look like they were either pin curled or set using small perm rods) are a great way to add some flair to the hairstyle. So, you definitely have options with short natural hair.
The Golden Updo
Now. I’m cheating a bit, because Teasea’s hair is quite long when stretched. Still, this style is also good for women with short to medium length hair. If you’re in that in between stage, this can work marvellously when you need to rush out the door.
