This is another budget friendly nail polish review since I only paid about US $2.50 for this beautiful champagne colour. I will admit that I don’t usually go for colours like these. This colour was only purchased in an effort to try something new. I’m so in love with the colour. It’s a perfect nude or neutral for the Fall/Winter season – especially if you’re in a more conservative workplace. I decided to add some punch by using it as the base of a nail art design.Below you will see Runway Finale on the left and Glassy Black on the right.
Finish – Glossy

APPLICATION & CONSISTENCY
Like all the Nanacoco polishes I have tried so far, this polish was also thick, creamy and almost opaque in one coat. I would say that although the polishes are opaque on one thick coat, I still recommend two coats for full opacity. The brush is somewhat thick and a bit denser than most other polishes (for eg. Essie) and the thickness provides a lot of control over the placement. Also, you don’t have any issues with streaks or clumping. It dries to a smooth, glossy finish.
LONGEVITY & REMOVAL
I really, really, really love Nanacoco polishes. I won’t stop saying it. They last ages. With or without topcoat, you’ll need at clean and reapply this polish at least every 5 days if you want to maintain a neat manicure.
Even with the dark colour, there is only wearing at the tip – no chipping. NO CHIPPING. It’s really difficult to find dark polishes that will last the work week. So, to me, this polish is a gem.
The champagne colour could make it over a week. The tip, I believe, is to do two medium coats instead of one thick coat. I’ve worn the champagne colour on it’s own and it lasted me over a week. This will definitely be my in-a-rush manicure for the future when life gets very busy.
The polishes are easy to remove. I do, as usual, recommend 1-2 coats of base coat underneath all dark colours (and blues – for some reasons bright blues almost always stain my nails). The glittery finish is very easy to remove because it’s a micro-glitter, but it’s easier than most polishes. It glides off just like a cream. I would consider one cotton swab per nail on the dark colour, however. In removal, it very easily gets into the cuticle and it hard to remove.
I believe I have tried enough Nanacoco nail polishes to say that it is one of my favourite nail polish brands. The colours have great staying power and are almost all opaque in 2 coats.
Nanacoco polishes are found in some pharmacies and discount beauty supplies but I haven’t found it to be widespread. I was able to find Glassy Black on Amazon. You can click on the image below to purchase.
